I know it looks dark, but I think the coin is fine. It appears original and a nice VF.

 

Four years ago you could buy these at $125 - I bought one for a friend to complete his date set. If this does grade at NGC as expected, it will bring a much nicer price as these have really increased in value :-).

I'd certainly agree with the VF assessment and with the sentiment to leave it as-is. Originality like the coin seems to display is more valuable than most would estimate.

It grades VF in my opinion. Invalid conservation would only have a detrimental effect on the value of this coin. There is nothing that can be done to "improve" it, as it appears to be as beautiful as a nice, original circulated Morgan can look.
