What coins should I have graded?

2 posts in this topic

Hi, I am new to the this forum as I collect mainly comics. I'll start by saying I do not know much about coin collecting. I am still trying to figure out what to do with my 3 free coin grading submissions. I was thinking of having a gold $20 coin graded. Also maybe a silver dollar or two from 1920 to 1960, although the grade on the coins would probably be very low. How about a $10 coin from those Las Vegas casinos. Is it worth having the coins above graded? I don't have too many other coins. Mainly more of the same as above. Any suggestions would be appreciated. confused.gif

Don't think that NGC will grade the casino coin, most grading services do not.

As to the others, the first thing that you might want to do is look for some online resources that explain coin grading and then find an online price guide to give you a feel for value. An online grading resource will also help you understand what cleaning is, and what to look for as grading services won't slab a cleaned coin.

The silver dollars might not have a lot of value, but the $20 would be a good candidate for sure.
