Why isn't this a star designation

I received this from Islandcoins today and it is prettier than another walker I have with a star designation. It is an ms-64 in an old NGC holder.

Back then NGC didn't designate stars.

That is one beautifull coin there. If that bag mark wasn't there I'd give it a MS-68 star grade.

If it's in an older NGC Holder, they weren't doing stars designations then. You can resubmit it for designation reveiw for $10 (unless they've raised the price for that service) and they will review the coin and re-holder it - it gets the * if they think it has exceptional eye-appeal - I'd give two **s because I think it's really exceptional

Very worthwhile - I've done this with several buffalo and Jefferson nickels. Your coin looks fabulous!

Oh wow, that is a bee-you-tee-full coin! NGC stars have only been around for three years or so, so you might want to resubmit that beauty.

I will be the first to admit I'm no authority on toning -- but to me your coin looks to be a great case of re-submitting and getting a star designation. In any case -- she's a knockout!!!! Congrats!
