Help needed in identifying japanese coin

I would truly appreciate it if someone could share their expertise on this japanese coin that I have. Any info at all would be so helpful!

It's a modern copy of a 19th century ichibu gin (Meiji and before). I don't know what the "gohyaku" (500) on the reverse is supposed to signify.

There is nothing remotely similar to that reverse shown in the Japanese Numismatic Dealers Association catalog, with or without a numeric inscription.

 

The perfectly rectangular shape is another indication that it isn't a genuine ichi-bu gin, as the real ones ranged from slightly rounded tops and bottoms to strongly irregular edges.

 

What are the dimensions?
