Since purchasing a Red Book, and a loop at the suggestion of many of you a few months ago. I recently got a surprise from NGC. A 1989 proof set came back PF-69 Ultra Cameo on all 5 coins. In your opinion is the value in the individual coins or in the set? Sorry for the error in the year.

Congrats! There is value in both the set and the individual coins. For 1986, the value of each individual coin is not huge, but 69 is the grade that most people will look for in trying to collect sets that they belong to. It's likely that you will value this set more than anyone else, and any monetary gain would be insignificant compared to the satisfaction that the collecting experience has given you.

Hey Judge, like I said, I meant no offense.

It's just been my experience that the 86 sets are not particularly strong.

To get an entire set back at 69 UCAM is indeed a find.

Congratulations!

This is not a good picture. Did the best with my scanner.

WELL THEN! I stand corrected.

NICE collection - sweeet!

I don't know from the value of those coins since I don't collect proof sets, but good for you. Now you just need to add some of the SAE's and commems from 86 to round it out - those are easy to get in 69 UCAM.

Actually, that's pretty good odds of getting them all back as 69 cam. My set has haze forming over the coins. So....Good Job! thumbsup2.gif
