I won 5 morgans sat night from a seller on Ebay and this morning I went out and got a money order, was ready to send it! Got to looking at this persons other auctions and there is the same morgan that I bought sat night (relisted) I got to looking and several of the coins I had bought was the same coins relisted from this same dealer, I sent out a email and didn't mail the money order, no answer on the email till tonight and they say its not the same coin, I am gonna add three links to this one coin and see what you guys think and what would you all do in this situation, I know if i send the money I am gonna get a junkie coin but I don't want 6 negatives either, anyway heres the links fist one is the one I bought.

I bought this one

PLEASE LOOK AT EACH COIN CAREFULLY. I WILL TRY TO GIVE YOU THE BEST PICTURE I CAN.

My opinion….. The only way I would purchase anything from this seller is if the seller lived next door to me.

1. You can’t possibly make an assessment of the coins condition with the photo posted.

2. All sales are final.

3. Money order or check for payment.

4. Seller admits to no knowledge of these coins.

5. Feedback issues.

6. Only a member for 6 months.

The seller could be the most honest person in the world, however there are just to many traps on this one. Sorry, looks like you need to try some humble negotiating or just send the money.

Despite the fact that "You can’t possibly make an assessment of the coins condition with the photo posted", the coin looks like it is worn and whizzed to me. All three pictures are the same coin.

It looks to me like you have the choice to save your feedback or save your money.

the 'my husband died and I'm selling off all his possessions' is not an uncommon ebay ploy. I bought a $700 Federal Reserve Note that had also, a no return policy, and a God bless you. The note was so corrupted I couldn't believe it. Actually, I couldn't believe my stupidity for buying it. Now this person here, is using the same coin over and over again for multiple sales. I wouldn't pay, I would immediately contact ebay. Yes, there's the fear of a negative feedback, but your numbers are high and you can reply to the feedback. First, try to negotiate not paying in lieu of your losing confidence in her product.

edited to add: I looked at her auctions. they're all one day auctions. something is not right here.

Basically I guess you bought 5 coins of the same (not uncommon) date that are AU and worth $20-$25 at MS-63/64 money ($45-$55). Why the same date I have no idea! You're either going to take a 40% or more loss or get a lot of negatives. Given you don't know a thing about buying coins on ebay I'd take the negatives, but I'd pay for one and see if it arrives. Once it does I'd call Ebay and say the coin doesn't match the photo and you've been defrauded, hense can not complete the rest of the sale. If the first coin doesn't arrive, then of coarse you have the perfect excuse not to send more money. I'd rather have the negs than this persons' junk.

Well I went ahead and sent the money order, guess I am gonna own some junk morgans, live and learn I suppose, man there is just too much of this [embarrassing lack of self control] going thru Ebay, I think before I buy anything else on there that I check the seller out a lot more than just feedback.

It seems to me that you sure were in a hurry to put your money in jeopardy. I don't understand that. Not only is this an all sales final auction, but you are already suspicious of the seller. You should have waited for email contact since you initiated it and should also have informed ebay, if necessary, of the apparent deception.

The coin may actually be beautiful in-hand, but why go out of your way to deal with folks who don't treat you the way you want to be treated? I mean, there are many nice coins to buy and some of those are even sold by nice people. 893scratchchin-thumb.gif

If you don't know what your doing...stick with PCGS and NGC certified coins. Yes you will pay more but you will have some measure of confidence in the item you are buying and if you don't get what's pictured.....you'll have the certification number to prove it's not the right coin.

I would not have bid on these nor would I have mailed off the money order...it's a scam plain and simple and you are going to get nothing for your money aka....junk coins.

When you set yourself up to fail....and you fail....why would you expect folks to pat you on the back and say it's not your fault and everything will be ok. I would rather someone tell it too me straight so I don't make a dumb mistake again....

The toned coin crowd sure set me straight many a time and my collection is a lot better for it. thumbsup2.gif

Consider this tough love.....we don't want to tell you want you want to hear...we want to tell you what you need to hear makepoint.gif

pawnee101, you are the worst coin collector in the history of the world. You should be prevented from ever again buying another coin or having an opinion on a coin-related matter.

You can tell by the keen literacy of the listing that this person is not as dumb as the email makes out. Plus, the listing mentions an "us".

And, the coins suck! Sorry my lit'le Okie buddy but you got scammed!

I would not have sent the money. There is no rule that says you have to send money to a dishonest seller.

If there is a rule that states you have to send money when the item has been misrepresented, we should all start a class action suit agains Ebay.
