TIRED OF BAD PICS ON EBAY? LOOK AT THIS

11 posts in this topic

Here are my tips......seeing how your a Powerseller and all these might just make you some more money.

#1 I would image toned coins on a white background and not that bright royal Blue rug your using.

#2 Better lighting and clearer pics...yes I can see the toning but the picture is so angled it almost looks AT in my opinion.

#3 The picture of your toned Morgan is way to big....if you can't fit the whole coin on your computer screen then it takes away from the overall look of the coin as you have to scroll from left to right.

#4 Add descriptions to your auctions.....remember.....you are trying to sell something so putting an accurate description with a little fluff about the pretty toning and colors seen on both Obverse and Reverse can't hurt!!!

Good Luck!!!! thumbsup2.gif

Here is an example of one of my old auctions.....notice that the pictures are a lot clearer than yours and even though it's a bullion coin I still added a description thumbsup2.gif

I do appreciate the criticisim but I am doing the best I can with what I got and thats a Sony Mavica fd-100 I think, and the blue background is my jeans, close to my knee, I did contrast the picture to try to make it as close to the actual color as posible, with Thumbs+ program, the coin actually is very close to color! And it is definately not AT, I pulled it out of an old dansco about a week ago along with several others that are toned near exactly like it! I have wished for the same type of camera that Lucile has but the fairy hasn't dropped it yet, and even maybe some lighting equipment! As for the large Pics I am just trying to make a statement to the Ebay community with them, at least it shows most of or any flaws on the coins, unlike most ebayers that tune out the hits and scrapes on the coins.

As far as I can tell that picture is heavily contrasted...which is somewhat dishonest, IMO

Dishonest come on Jom its a ninety nine cent starting bid and I did revise the description!

Good images can really make a difference in an auction. When I have something of value I will always use the 6 pack photo option and make a slide show.

I wasn't speaking of the specific auciton as I did not look over the auction all that well...just the photo. When the contrast of the photo is toyed with the picture is made out to more "colorful" than it actually is.

I was not in any way making a comment toward the seller or the auction because even if the photo is inaccurate a good description and a return policy can certainly make up for it...which as you pointed out has been done.

Sorry for the misunderstanding...
