Anyone ever buy "JH Exceptionals" from Heritage?

I ordered up two of them yesterday: a Lincoln 09 VDB - PCGS MS 65 RD and a 59 - PCGS MS 66 RD. It'll be interesting to see if they're really pushing a point because they didn't have as much eye appeal as some of the others in their class.

That could be be the pics, though. At any rate it wasn't too expensive an experiment.

I've never ordered one of these and I must admit that their images of them sometimes make me believe it is a random assignment.

What?! You don't like Heritage's carefully photographed coins? What's wrong with you? You must have something against the blind one-armed monkey who normally takes their photos. Animal hater. mad.gif

I have bought the JH Exceptional coins on several occasions over the years. These have always been well above average coins. Not once disappointed, but that does not mean it would always work out.

I know you guys are just horsin' around, but Heritage has some of the best pics on the web - with the flash player zoom and all. I wish you could see more of that on ebay. At any rate, when they have to photograph the really high-end stuff they call in the monkey with two arms and a patch. You can't really expect them to take high-res pics of every Lincoln cent that come through.

Well, that's certainly a reason Heritage's pics aren't too good. They do have a LOT of coins to shoot.

I don't think Heritage is anyway near as bad as, say, Superior or Bowers. But none of those are anywhere close to ANR's exceptional photos....

I think Jon's got it--if you have exceptional coins let ANR exceptionally photo and then auction them. Marginal stuff might as well go to Heritage.
