China Panda Registry set Question

3 posts in this topic

I'm in the process of submitting my Silver Panda coins for grading and I have a question on the coins included in the complete panda registry set.

Commerative 10y Silver coins are included prior for years 2000 and prior but more modern ones such as "China 2004 Bejing Coin Show Silver Panda w/Gold" are not. Is this simply an oversite or is there a reason for this?

I also notice that the "1991 10th Anniversary Proof Panda" is included in the registry. I own this coin but wan't planning on having it graded because it's a double thick (2oz) coin. How would NGC mount this? Do they use a thicker holder?

The registry is always a work in progress. It is never complete and constantly updating. As for Pandas, Commemoratives are not complete and more will be added as they are submitted or added to books. As for the 1991 Double thick coin, we will do our best to holder the coin, however if it is not able to be holdered we can do a photo proof of the coin verifying the grade allowing you to add it to the registry. Also for oversized coins NGC now has an oversized holder so even larger Pandas can be graded and encapsulated.

I just added the 2006 Panda coins to their corresponding sets. If you see any more over sites or have any other questions feel free to PM or Email me about them.
