6 posts in this topic

I have a coin that was passed down in the family. It was appraised at 65/65 by INTERNATIONAL NUMISMATIC SOCIETY

P.O. box 66555

Washington, D.C. 20035

in 1988

Can any help me fin information on how much this coin is worth?

(1902 morgan dollar "o")

This coin was uncirculated and still in a scealed package (hard plastic air tite)

I have search the web for the company and the company it was bought from (First Federal Investments) with no luck.

Can any help me track down this information?

It's likely simply a BU 1902-O Morgan. The grading standards that these companies used in the 1980s were not always equal to those used now. However, it is most likely no higher in grade than indicated, and may well grade lower today.

You can go to any local dealer and they can help you, or go to a local bookstore and browse through the coin books and magazines. Morgan dollars are probably the second or third most collected US coin series and these periodicals always have price guides for them.
