Help with grading

3 posts in this topic

Hi Billy --

I need help in understanding why this 1999 1c "wide AM" is graded MS-65 Red.

I need the same help. All I can offer is the typical "it's impossible to grade from pictures." That said, however, I tend to agree with your assessment.

as a guesstimate from a photo of the said coin in the slab

coin was stored improperly in the holder so the coins color changed after certification

and/or

had something on the coin before it was holdered so the color changed in the holder

and/or

is a mechnical error with the tag

and/or the coin was mis designated which i highly doubt this happened more than likely one or more of the above first three

but without seeing the coin in hand sight seen and with a little investigation with ngc customer service i cant say for sure
