AM I NUTTS OR NOT

9 posts in this topic

My kid thinks I have lost it, I have been buying wheat cents by the roll and spending more time with them than I should, getting the roll in the mail and protecting it with a vengence untill I get home, then spending hours just examing each coin with a passion, they just dont understand what the heck I am doing, the old man has lost his marbles! Anyway have been a collector/dealer for many moons, winter time is best time for me, gets cold here in Oklahoma and its something to do! I do Ebay quite a bit and I am pawnee101 on there also, come check me out have a ME page on there. Mike acclaim.gif

Speaking of going through pennies................did anyone happen to see the auction for approximately one ton of wheaties? The auction ended with the Reserve not met. Sorry, I didn't save it.

Thanks for the replies, was beginning to think I was blacklisted or something, the orriginal pennie rolls from the 40s and fiftys are going out of sight, I just paid 102.50 for bank wrapped 1946 roll and 78 for a 1946-d roll the 30s in there original bank wrapped things are in the 5 6 hundred range.

Hi pawnee101!!,

Well, I don't think your nuts. You have to stare at them to pick the best one. Then you have to go back and stare at them some more to make sure!! That's when I cull the ones out with a dink in the date or mint mark or somewhere else that is really noticeable.

Now, just a warning. Doesn't matter if people admit it or not, there's a little bit of "Unsearched Wheat Penny Madness" in all of us! And it can get out of hand. It doesn't necessarily have to be wheats either.
