Today is veterans day a day to remember all those who have served and are serving. Because of these people we have the freedoms that we do. Remember all of those who have served and the ones who are still serving. Those that gave there all and those that are still missing.

thank you for all that you have done.

I would like to add a personal note:

To my father, Joseph Paul Machuga, Medic, 79th Infantry Division, 314th Infantry, Co. H, ETO, WWII:

You braved the landing on Omaha Beach in Normandy without any weapon to protect you;

you remained constantly on the front lines through five major battle campaigns without ever once being sent to the rear for rest;

you dragged wounded men out of harm's way so they could fight once again and return home safely:

you did this despite being wounded twice yourself because it was your duty;

and when you were captured you continued to administer to the injured and the sick;

it didn't matter whether they were American, English, French, or Polish;

your will to survive helped to sustain them, too;

you were one of the lucky ones who made it back home;

were it not for that, I wouldn't be here, today;

now, you are to be forever remembered at Arlington National Cemetery;

along with so many others who paid the ultimate price so that we may be free.

Your loving son,

Christopher Paul Machuga

Wonderful post Travis!! And thanks for putting my half dollar picture up the other day. And Chris----God bless your dad----soooo well spoken my friend!! We all are or should be so very grateful to all those who have served and placed their lives on the line for our freedoms. God surely has a "special" place of glory in heaven for all of them who live to serve others. Bob [supertooth]

Good thoughts little dude, we owe so much to the men and women who served our country, to remember their sacrifices and keep them in our thoughts is the least we can do as we go about our lives doing as we choose with more freedom then any where else on earth thanks to these people who have and will protect our freedoms in the armed services.

Thank you so very much!
