1988 P Doubled

Where do you see the doubling. It is hard to tell from the scan. Maybe a photo image in better light would show the doubling you apparently see.

Can you post another picture or describe where you see doubling?

I have a 1988-P that is identicle to that one. The coin is not a doubled die, but rather, it is struck from extremely worn dies that have developed such stress lines on them that the designs appear to be doubled. If you look at his picture closely, you can see the ghost image of the date...it's mixed in with all the roughness in the fields, but it is there.

Oh there are so many varieties and limitless errors its hard for me to know. Thank you for clearing that up for me. I have a ton of quarters from 1994, 1995, and 1998 like this too, but on them the only "doubling or worn - or weak strike is on the IGWT.
