Where's the word "Copy"?

7 posts in this topic

With this type of stuff they often make two varieties, one each with "COPY" on the fornt and back but tend to use only the non labeled sides in the photos.

That being said, what a bunch of [embarrassing lack of self control] those things are.

What are the rules on this? I am not sure. I recall though that those reproductions of the 1855 Kellogg $50 slug from the SSCA didn't have copy on them, but rather had the inscription "SS Central America Gold C.H.S" on the reverse ribbon, which differs from the original design. Perhaps these restrikes have a similar alteration. Though of course these coins were US Govt issues where the Kellogg was a private issue.

The obverse looks like that of a modern coin, but the reverse of an old coin. I'd like to see both sides of the fake as it appears the reverse is of the old coin and the new ones probably has copy written on it.

I had not noticed that. If that is true these guys are still being a little shadey not showing the true image of the reverse of the coin you will be getting.
