Thanks for the input on my "plastic melts" question. I'm looking for a second safe for my second best coins, misc. coins, and newer mint sets. The safe I already have is rated at 1700 degrees for 2 hours. The second one I'm looking at is a large gun safe rated at 1200 degrees for 45 minutes with a built in dehumidifier. Is it safe to say that the only place my best coins are safe is in the bank box?

Has anyone had experiance with coins after a fire?
