I think if the Mint would use this Monticello rendition on the back of the 'new' nickel (but drop the name from the design- it's too crowded) we would have a winner.

I agree totally. That would be a nice compromise to just changing the reverse altogether.

Nice "fall foliage" color on those leaves.

 

Almost any rendering of Monticello would be better than going back to the pre-Lewis and Clark version. This one is nice.

I'm surprised by how many coins that other people think are "pug-ugly" that I actually like. But I don't think your nickel is ugly in the slightest!
