need help with ID of this large cent

Hey - Thanks for the lightened picture.

 

Your coin appears to be an N-6 variety, which is an R1. The die state looks like die state "a" where the repunching is readily evident under the numerals 6 (the strongest) and 4 (where the repunching slowly fades with die wear). There appear to be no lapping lines through the E in STATES, but if there are in person, then the die state might be considered "b."

 

Great looking coin. I'd grade it an EAC 40, market 55. Value is around $100. Very nice.

It's kind of amazing the number. Only 2 are proof only, leaving 24 varieties as business strikes! 893whatthe.gif

 

The N-6 that Sadysta1 posted is one of the more distinct varieties and therefore one of the easier to attribute. yeahok.gif
