Lincoln Cent variety and error pictures..........

8 posts in this topic

Hi all.........I went looking around for pictures today for 1972-D Double dies.....no luck..

I frequently visit http://conecaonline.org/variety_listings.html but still no pictures just text...

I was wondering if anyone knew of a website, free or otherwise that has any pictures samples for errors.......I really would like to see pictures of everything listed at Coneca (mainly cents) without buying 10 different books or a million different coins.....

Anyone have any ideas?

Hi and welcome, Warlock. hi.gif Try this site -- coppercoins.com -- and look under the "search this site" feature on the left side of the home page to find photos of Lincoln 1c varieties. The site also refers to some written attribution guides that you might want to consider. Good luck!

Ok,,,, thanks guys.....I'm going to look now.......

I'm might be getting too excited but it appears that I have a 90% full mint bag 1972-D DDO's cents. Just not sure which type yet as all the varieties are very similar....I know they are not worth much but it is interesting.

I would scan a few but I doubt the doubling would show up with my scanner....If I try to scan would anybody be interested in taking a look?

Thanks again for the links.

Here's the page he'd be looking for from CD's site. 1972d ddo listing. If it's not one of those then more likely it's master die doubling. If I remember right, about half of the 1972 cents show master die doubling.
