I would very much appreciate a little commentary -- notes or tidbits of information -- along with the photos of the beautiful coins that you post. A 893whatthe.gif and hail.gif reflect how I feel about the coins, but I need all the education I can get. But, if you don't feel like it, I'll still enjoy the photos. tongue.gif

Proof gold just mesmerizes me when I see it in a display case. Wish they weren't so expensive.

 

Odd how classic proof gold is so expensive compared to other proof coins of the same era, even allowing for mintage differences. You can buy silver and copper 20th century proof type for less than the MS equivalent grade in many cases - but the same doesn't seem to apply for proof gold!
