Anything is possible, Billy! I just sent the seller an e-mail and suggested that he drop the "one-of-a-kind" claim, and he could view mine here if he didn't believe me. I also asked him if he found it in the $100 Mixed P & D bag. I hope he does well with the auction, and I'll be following it to see the outcome. In any event, I still don't plan to sell mine.

 

As far as the odds of two of them getting away from the Mint................I'll leave that to the bookies.

He had offered Chris $1k right? I'm sure he will be bidding on it,since I know he is always looking through the error section on eBay and entering a ton of bids...

Hayden, I said a local dealer had offered me $1K for it raw. After I had it graded, I sent the pic to FW for background info and to get an idea of value, but he never responded. I guess it must have put him to shame. On his site he was asking $300 for a puny, ugly States Quarter missing the clad layer on the obverse that was raw. I don't know if it was just the picture, but it looked so bland and blah that it would have been at home in a Weight Watchers salad.

PS. I contacted Dirk, the seller of the other Kennedy, and he also found his in the $100 Mixed P & D Mint bag. It may very well have come from the same batch. I wonder if there are any markers unique to both?

I think this could be a 5K coin. There are alot of serious Kennedy collectors and no as many of these to go around. It'll be interesting to see if this auction will bring more out.
