Doggone! I missed out in Heritage as well!

First, I got skunked at Superior, then I got beat out on this 1869 Indian head cent at Heritage! I bid $432, and some sneakthief got it for $450 on the floor - ooh ooh ooh I hate that!!!! mad.gif

I already have the 1869/8, and only need the more "common" 1869, and AU-58 is the exact grade I've been holding out for, plus this NGC graded coin looks gorgeous from the scans. The thought of getting outbid by a measly $18 when I thought for sure I'd bid strong! sign-rantpost.gif

I'll join that club also. I'm getting blown away on several lots. One lot I bid over double the high estimate and I still got outbid and it hasn't even gone to teh floor yet. Christo_pull_hair.gif I've only got two lots left and now I'll have to pay sales tax if I win them as they're under $1000. 893censored-thumb.gif

I'm afraid to leave bids for a coin I really want. I always end up going and spending half the night sleeping while I wait for my lot to come up. sleeping.gif

Greg: You should have put you bids on my account...at least there'd be a chance to avoid the sales tax as both of lots will be >$1000...assuming I win of course. 893scratchchin-thumb.gif

I never imagined I'd win less than $1000 worth of stuff. I can only recall once in the past several years where I was close to winning less than $1K and it hinged on winning the final lot which I did. This time there is no chance unless I call and up my bids om my outbid lots - one I'm thinking about.
