if you look at any specialist or even regular dealers coin lists the last few years you always see the s mint and lots of cc mint trade dollars for sale circ. and some unc.

 

BUT YOU RARELY IF EVER do you SEE ANY 1874-P MINT CIRC. COINS FOR SALE LET ALONE UNC'S!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 893scratchchin-thumb.gif

All of the first two years are scarce - except for the fact that 1873's were saved as a novelty and there are a few more of them around.

 

They were used as they were supposed to be used - to dump silver from the Nevada mines into China in return for trade goods. From there they went to India where they were melted.
