How do I get someone to examine my coin?

8 posts in this topic

I give up ...I have tried to photograph, the strange object embedded in my Ohio quarter to prove that it is not a scratch, and no matter how much I try the image is not clearer than the previous scan that I posted earlier. Is there anyone on this board who knows where I can send it to have it examined?http://boards.collectors-society.com/attachments//908432-Allyinthegarden.jpg

Hi Dogs --

In addition to ANACS, as suggested in the previous post, you can also send your coin to CONECA for error attribution.CONECA Attribution Page Link. Billy Crawford, who posts here as Die Varieties, might be willing to help if he's not already too busy. Finally, you might also ask Alan Herbert for assistance. He generously spends time responding to queries like yours by mail addressed to him at 1010 Yuma Street, Belle Fourche, SD 57717-2232 (but don't send the coin in your first correspondence) and by e-mail addressed to answerman2@aol.com (at least that's his most recently published e-mail address).

I'll do that thank you all. I fially got my software for he scanner to work right. I scanned the image again with higher resolution this time and I manipulated the colors. If you look to the far left you can see the metal end actually sticking out above the coin just above the bottom of the inside rim. 908753-diffview.jpg

dogsrmylife: I can examine and photograph if you so desire. I believe others can vouch for me such as Chris. All I ask is include funds for how you want your coin shipped back to you. I would recommend at least Insured mail. I can be contacted at: dievarieties@sc.rr.com.

Billy is top-notch.

Chris

Yes I did mean to. Thank you she(one of my five) is very happy in the photo. We have our first little garden with our first veg. and fruit this year. She's helping pick green beans. Next year I'm growing 3 acres of everything. Funny and Weird- last year we were renting and almost homeless, we lived on Deer meat only for one whole month.
