Has anyone seen one of these offered for sale recently? Any thoughts on what the cost would be to purchase an example that was made by the mint.

The copies should cost no more than $30-$40. The mint did not make electrotype copies. This was done outside the mint. A real 1804 dollar will cost upwards of $700K .

If it is a good electrotype - that is, an electrotype made from the molds of an actual coin, and not a cast copy made from a hand-engraved mold, then I actually believe it would be worth up to $500. I know that good electrotypes of rare coppers can go for that much, and I would think an electro-1804 dollar should be about as valuable.
