My First CC DMPL Morgan Arrived Today ... I'm AMAZED!!!

10 posts in this topic

I received my first CC DMPL Morgan today and am absolutely amazed by how beautiful it is compared to my non DMPL Morgans in the same grade. The difference is HUGE! Unfortunately, this means that I am going to have to upgrade my CC Morgan collection to all DMPLs.

So are you just filthy rich or haven't looked at the price guides yet? 893whatthe.gif

Although I must admit I've seen better,at a recent show I saw a 68*DMPL in a dealers table, and man oh man I almost peed in my pants!!! 893whatthe.gif

Oh, BTW last year there were 8 reports of blindness caused by sunlight reflected of DMPL Morgans so be carefull! tongue.gif

Wow! That rivals any deep cameo proof! Can you imagine what that bad boy (or girl since we're talking about Anna Williams) would have looked like just after striking?? If this type of coin didn't allure people into collecting coins at the time then I don't know what ever would.

Awesome! And 1882 is a better date for Carson City, too! thumbsup2.gifthumbsup2.gif

If you read the Market Report at Legendcoin.com you'll see that these are generally viewed as being about 10% overpriced pre 1889CC. But I've noticed a weak spot in the market in the MS-64 1890CC DMPL/DPL's which have been coming on the market in multiples at auction. Of course you can't buy a 1892CC, but there are a lot if beauties in 80-85 (note: the 85CC is allowed more marks than others in MS-65DM). Very pretty example you selected-- smile.gif
