I was drafted in the Army and did a tour in Vietnam stationed with the 180th MP Company/504th MP Battalion. I was awarded the PH for being wounded during combat. I subsequently completed my tour and obligation in the Army. I got out for about a year, goofed around, and then joined the Navy. Figured it was better being on a ship than being shot at. I retired from the Navy with 23 years of service.

I now enjoy our hobby ...

When I first viewed the Vietnam Memorial in D.C., I cried. I had many high school and college friends that never came back. The real shame is because there are 20 times that many, still living, who receive no recognition for serving their country during that period. God bless you, Billy!
