Why are Ike dollars so poorly regarded in the registry

4 posts in this topic

All the Ike dollars in the registry are in my opinion not nearly give the proper "pointage" they deserve. You have modern commem.s which are numerous in the census at high grades and they command hundreds of points.

Ike dollars, especially in proof are sometimes under 10, that's TEN!, points. They are surely undervalued as many are condition rarities, have low census numbers, or both. I don't get it??

I tend to agree with you in general terms. The modern Commems are generally better struck and have fewer marks than Ikes, particularly the silver clad issues which tend to be scuffy. I guess that this is a question for review by NGC.
