Another pesky question about Roosevelt dimes - please price a complete set

5 posts in this topic

I picked up a near-complete set; it lacks only 26 coins. This is the Dansco album that includes the Proof-only issues. Business strikes ALL grade at least MS-63, and most are original white, with only a few toners.

Anyone have a clue what a complete set like this is worth?

THANKS!

James

I bought my complete set BU and Proof, including the SMS, new silver proofs, and varieties (79 and 81 ty2) for $349 about 4 or five years ago, but I don't think they've gone up that much except for some of the later proofs (the 99 and 01 are probably pretty tough, as well as the 04). Hope this helps.

I've been working on a complete Roosevelt set with pure white coins. I'm about 75% done. Every coin I've plucked from proof sets or bought as singles at a show except the 49-d I bought from Millers Mint in MS64. I've got about $200 into my set and about $100 to go, so I'd say a full set goes for about $300?? I think it's a terribly undervalued set and not even all that challenging. I'd definitely recommend everyone to complete a set as well as Ikes, SBAs, and Kennedys before it becomes too expensive. I see a huge price increase as the boomers retire. Just my .02

I have no idea as to what these are worth, however, I would bet they are worth substantially more as a complete set than they are as singles. I write this because nearly every date in the silver series was saved by the roll and many rolls of higher graded MS coins still remain.
