Posting a Pic

13 posts in this topic

OK I have read the instructions in the FAQ's several times, published my pic on a web site and still can't get it to work!!!! The directions are greek to me in the FAQ's. Can someone make a list of steps in layman's terms PLEASE Christo_pull_hair.gif

Here are the steps anyone can follow:

1) Register at PhotoBucket.com

2) bypass all the education offers.

3) Up load your pictures to PB

4)Copy the URL that PB provides

5) Go to chat posting and click the "Image link" under Instant UBB to the right of the automated Icons.

6) a browser link open....edit copy, edit paste your link from PB. Link will appear in the message text without the picture at first.

7) Click the auto preview function to make sure the PIC appears. Picture should appear on the preview.

8) confirm the posting.

9) From a dummy at URL's and web pages makepoint.gif

There should be a http://etc...... url that you can just click on and "copy", then just "paste" right into your message. Did you join Photobucket? If so, it's the third set of characters under your pic. Click on it, it turns blue, right click and "copy", then right click and "paste" to put the pic in your post.

Don't get discouraged. I experimented for the first time tonight (after all, everything in the Heritage ANA auction that I want is already above my bid level, so I had to find something to do grin.gif).

Instead of using Photobucket, I created an attachment using the message board options. The attachment feature lets you browse the drive where your photo is located. Open the photo file, and bingo, you've created a URL that you can use. Open your own attachment, and you will see the URL that you can click, copy & paste. Paste it into message using the Image feature (under Instant UBB Code options).

This is what I came up with during my experiment (after resizing the image for posting -- the JPEG image experienced some "lossiness" in compression):

Abaco; I tried your URL and I can't get the photo to appear either??? Although I put the URL in my browser address and up comes the photo??? You might want to try another photo hosting site. I use VillagePhotos.com
