Here's another one from that recently came from Germany, a 1717 Salzburg 2 pfennig:

A little coin but very nicely preserved. Srike is a bit better than average, although still mushy on the tassels. Fields are smooth ans semi-prooflike. Just a bit of color in greens and blue towards the rims.

Salzburg is one of the most common states to find a very nice yet inexpensive coin from the 18th and 17th centuries. I have quirte a few in my collection. thumbsup2.gif

Nice coin, good work with the photography too, you really caught the prooflike fields. Is it graded or is it a rare raw fighter among all these slabs of yours?

It's raw....

... for now!

1717/1716?

I think Greg is right about the overdate as a 1717/10 (he's very good at spotting these). They often used a lower case "o" rather than a separate punch for zero.

Really nice and lustrous coin. I like these coins with proof-like surfaces; they must have come from new dies, and it goes to show you there were cherry-pickers back in the day.
