Hi we just bought a 1922 Grant Star 1/2 dollar coin on ebay .Seller stated he had a PCGS certified genuine with PVC residue from an old holder. This coin came to me in a flexible plastic flap holder has a blue label on one side of the plastic and white label on the other plastic flap. this isn't a sealed coin. Is this guy sending me a counterfit coin???????

It's just a bodybagged coin - meaning that PCGS refused to certify it due to the problem (PVC). There is no guarantee the coin is real as PCGS did not authenticate it and the coin could be switched from the unsealed flip.

Send the coin to NCS to have them remove the PVC and then to NGC to grade.
