Yes! YES!!! after years of frustrating search - I GOT MY WASHINGTON QUARTER!!!!

13 posts in this topic

The St. Louis show for me was very mediocre as far as selling (more in another thread) .... BUT ... I was able to buy a lot of coins. I bought coins for inventory ranging from a couple of bucks all the way up to $1000, but of all the coins I bought, the one I bought for myself is the one that really made my day. Let's see if these pictures can tell the story..... ENJOY!!!!

I really enjoy finding the souvenir sets since it's very unusual for the dealer to want too much for them. The '83-P set is a pretty good place to find gems of most of the coins in them. The quarter is elusive but the dime and half aren't too tough.

This '83-P set may have the highest attrition of all the modern mint sets. One has to suspect that most which trade hands are usually cut up for one or more of the coins in them. The mint claimed mintage of this set at 15,000 but I suspect this was an early mintage figure and at least a few more were made later in the year.

Your quarter set looks great! I especially like the '82-D and a lot of the '50's era coins.

An old story but one worth hearing and repeating.

I like the way you tell it with all the pics.

No need to clutter it up with a lot of words. Pictures are gooder for us simple minded folk. 893applaud-thumb.gif
