NCS conservation for an NGC coin

2 posts in this topic

I just bought a Standing Liberty quarter NGC 64 over the internet from a major dealer. It came with a note saying Important message-that it has been evaluated by NCS and is a good candidate for conservation. The coin looks fine to me with light toning. Are they talking about removing the toning or something else I`m missing? Thanks for answering.

These stickers are put on the coin when something is seem on the surface that may benefit from conservation. This can include but is not limited to mild residues or tarnish, specks of dirt and other minor problems that although somewhat distracting were not significant enough to prevent the coin from grading at NGC.

The sticker does not mean the coin will upgrade, rather it is geared towards improving the stability of the coin's surface by removing foreign material.

It is just a suggestion...sending the coin to NCS is at your discretion.
