Need help with a Franklin

5 posts in this topic

I recently started collecting coins and I bought a 1961 Franklin half from an eBay auction. It was graded and slabbed by NTC. The grade they give is PR68 CAM. What is confusing me is the text printed under the grade: "DBL BREAST HEAD". confused.gif Does anyone know what this means? Any idea the current estimated value?

I have Rick T's book on Frankilns and there is nothing on a dbl breast head for any proofs. Sounds like something they made up.

It is hard to give you a value. NTC does not back up their grades with a grade guarantee like NGC. Their grade could mean anything.

They may be referring to some doubled die attribute with a clever name. Not sure. In any case, the grade they assigned may not be the same when measured against PCGS and NGC standards.
