Would NGC or PCGS not certifiy it???? Why have ICG certify it???

 

Possibly their lawyers advised them not to?

 

Or perhaps ICG paid the most money to have the honor of grading it?

That sounds about right. The timeline in the story is kind of odd. In fall of last year they were asked about it. They recieved it in late January. It is now July and only now they are announcing it. They were probably shopping around. 893scratchchin-thumb.gif

This is really surprising! I wouldn't have thought anyone of the various services would take a chance on certifying such a risky coin....
