The 1794 "Starred Reverse" just discovered didn't take long to hit eBay!

Wow, I saw the article in Coin World about someone finding a 1794 starred reverse cent. Is this the same one? I owned a 1794 large cent myself, but sold it about 2 months ago. Too bad mine didn't have those little stars on the reverse. The mint did carzy things in the early years. Why did they make 1 reverse die with those little stars hidden between the denticles?

Merc, it is indeed the same coin! I saw the Coin World article too, and a friend of mine alerted me to the eBay listing. In fact, he has bid / is bidding on it wink.gif.

Jonathan, I guess I must agree with you on this one! It surely a rare piece but if you can't see it????? Then I can't even read the date on a dime with my glasses. I use a 10X loop to just try and find the mint mark!

I think that after the coin has been curated, the presence of the stars on the reverse will be more obvious!
