I Must Have Done it Wrong. Now, Tell Me How to Do it Right!

I sent an evenly matched 1952-P set of coins into NGC (on May 2nd, slow boat status) in the original green cardboard mint holder with outer envelope.

I had stated on the submission form I wanted them housed in two five coin multi-slabs. I even taped a photo of the multi-slab for a visual reminder.

Well, you guessed it. I received the ten coins back yesterday each in their individual holders! I think I either messed up on clarifying my desire or NGC was punishing me for not including each coin in individual flips crazy.gif

I'm not that bugged about it really, but just in case I really, really want a set of coins in the large multi-holder, what is the proper method of making sure this happens?

On a side note: NGC! You couldn't have thrown me a bone? tonofbricks.gif I honestly thought one of the two quarters was MS67 (that would have been a nice hit!). The rest of the coins all graded MS66 or MS65 (with one lone MS64 Franklin).

Oh, well!

It's NGC what do you expect... tongue.gif

I thought that NGC only encased them all in a Multi-slab if they we're all the same grade? confused.gif

I have seen multi holders used on coins on different grades...

Hayden, I remember that someone posted a multi-coin holder that listed different grades on the insert. So the answer to your question must be, "No!"

Hi braddick,

I am guessing that this was just an error on our part. Can you send me a pm with your invoice number and I'll look into the situation?

I apologize for the inconvenience and welcome the opportunity to make the situation right.

It'd be kind of cool to do a multi-coin holder grading set. You could have a set for each grade range: PO-01, FR-02, AG-03, then another one for G-04, G-06...

It's invoice 2504405. Oh, I guess there's no chance I can get back the original mint set holder these coins were housed in is there? I doubt it, but figured I'd asked (I thought NGC returned this type of stuff with the order?)

Thank you.
