Question about underweight 1944 Lincoln Cent 1 1

This question is about a 1944 P Lincoln cent and weight 2.94 G. Is this still within weight range?

average weight in grams - mint tolerance = lower range of tolerance

Yours is 4/100ths of a gram shy. Not really enough to get excited about, I’m afraid.

Noting some of the wear and light corrosion on this cent could account for the 4/100ths.

There is probably about a half of gram lost due to wear.    
Unless a coin is a at least a full gram over or under, it is not worth bothering about.

Me agree.  Weight loss would be expected for metal that serves a utilitarian function in circulation.

Look for a red 1944. They are pretty cheap. You can get one for a $1 or $2.

Why bother with this one then? Maybe if it was a harder date. Or are you just looking for a variety or something?

Very true, I even ran into a seller at a coin show selling BU 30's wheats cents for $1 a piece.
