Sandon
This proof 1969-S cent shows no indication of doubling, die or otherwise, other than that created by the blurriness of the close-up photos. Please refer to the resources previously provided by me and other members. Edited July 24 by Sandon Administrator moved this topic, originally posted in the Registry forum, to the correct forum. Hoghead515
Looks normal to me. You can check cents by going to Variety Vista or NCC variety plus and comparing them to known examples. If they dont match then more than likely they are either not doubled or have the worthless type of doubling such as machine doubling, strike doubling, etc. Most true dd coins are very hard to find. Most are like looking for unicorns.
Mike Meenderink
Machine doubling. Doubled dies are doubled on the strike die itself..the coin is not hit twice. The serifs on the lettering do not show shifts or wedge build doubling. This is a common machine doubling chatter low quality coin.
