At the 1 o’clock position of the S is what I believe to be the letter “D” and above that one is another mark that clashed with the #5. Die chips that created the appearance of blobs clogging letters and numerals were very common on cents and other coins of the 1950s and early 1960s. I agree with @Coinbuf that your coin appears to exhibit such a die chip combined with damage from a post-mint strike from a hard object.
