Love this!  Thanks for posting!  I don't know much about colonials, and this taught me a lot.  I always wondered what the yellow was on the crown - brass! It was a brand new metal of the time and was applied in a molten droplet after the coin was minted.  Cool!image.png.68084babe1505ae292eee5ca6db2f10e.png

Thanks for posting.  There is something so intriguing about numismatic mysteries, much more interesting than coins that have all the details known.  I have had one of the small size St. Patrick coins for years and just bought one of the large ones.  Tracking shows that it should arrive today or tomorrow.
