Popular Post J P M
I got some great deals on a couple nickels for the registry set this past week . I am very happy with the 66 FS 1948 D it is a great looking coin for a 48 and the 1972 D is also very nice for a 65 FS. Mr.Bill347
Nice again JP. The steps on that 1972 are incredible. What's that fuzzy spot on the reverse of the 1972. Looks like the metal was smooshed there a little. I've seen those striations before but I don't know what the term is for those.

I try to stay with the MS 66 FS but sometimes you get a deal you can't pass on like the graded1972 D FS for $7. The price jump from 65 to 66 is a big one on this coin and a killer from 66 to 67 .As I am sure you know. Lem E

The majority of my time has been collecting in the 38 to 64 dates but I have now ventured beyond those years and working on the complete to date collection. The 50s and 60s are tough for nickels but really the 70s and 80s aren’t much better. Quality and in my opinion a lack of submissions makes it tough to find higher grade pieces. Some years top pops are 66s. Once you hit 1987 the quality gets better after they worked on the hubs and dies. It is a fun and challenging series. Best of luck on your hunts my friend.
