I have a love/hate relationship with my local coinshop.

Almost every time I go, I spend too much money. Once in a while, I visit and spend only a few bucks, then I get angry since I walk away with a mere pitance of coins. Well, today was a good "bad" day. I had stopped by earlier in the week to see what was up, and came out of the store with a few BTW commems, nothing special, so I was a bit upset at my meager results. Today, I walk in wanting to purchase only a few coin supplies. Well, I guess my timing was pretty good. The owner had just bought a commem deal the day before, and was pricing them for sale. At the showcase was another commem buyer, who was looking at old inventory which I had already seen. The owner looks at me really strange, and says, "I have some coins for you." Appears that I got to the new purchases minutes before the other commem buyer got to see them, so I had first shot. Minutes, just minutes. Well, I bought this ultra cool Bridgeport commem in the original box, a coin which had not seen the light of day in years, with very cool, very original and authentic box toning. Something quite rare today. I also bought a couple of W/C and BTW commems. My timing was pretty good since the other commem buyer bought most of the coins that I had passed on. So, I ended up spending money again with the intention of only spending a few bucks.

Funny how that timing thing works out sometimes. I lucked into 2 of Aker's personal seated dollars just because Laura happened to walk by his case in between the time a potential buyer looked at them and came back to purchase them.

Heh, I was at a coin show a while ago and found a really nice Lincoln I wanted. I was short a bit of cash, so I went into the lobby to get some more money from the ATM. In that two minutes he sold the coin. Guess I should have told him I wanted it beforehand.
