A "BUDGET SECTION"?  I thought it cost money to put on a show.

Farther from the entrance - cheaper table rates - smaller dealers - more collector oriented. These are the guys that’ll mostly still be here on Saturday afternoon.

Nice parking lot. Looks a lot like a big Flea Market rather than professional Trade Show.  ;)

This is literally the back most corner of the hall, right out of the restroom area. The bourse is roughly triangular.

If you have a smartphone, use the PANORAMA feature to get lots more width and wide-angle shots of the entire bourse.

Looks like butt-kicking attendance.

For dealers or the public ?

Should be able to get a hard number on dealers and compare to January FUN shows.  Not sure how Summer FUN compared to January FUN pre-Covid but I assume it was 10-20% lower in dealer attendance.

Yeah, I want to get some elevation if I can.

Summer FUN has to be down some from the January one. In January, it’s the end of the Christmas season show doldrums. Lots and lots of kids present. We’re one of the stops on Treasure Trivia. Fewer painfully shy kids this time. Maybe these kids are starting to come out of their COVID shells.

I went to the Message Desk to get a little elevation. They are at the middle of the hypotenuse of the right angle that is this bourse floor. The Mecum car auction is taking up the regular shaped rooms. The perspective makes the bourse look really far away. It isn’t really. Oh darn! The picture file is too big to post.

I sold 10 common Morgan’s in old small ANACS holders to a dealer from Philly. I knew I wasn’t carrying them home. I was either going to sell them or have them put in NGC holders. I got a very fair offer.

I haven't been able to go to the summer show since 2002.  I've been to the winter/spring show four times since: 2006, 2010 (or 2011), 2013, and 2020.

I almost always come up empty.  Nothing I want to buy.

I remember attending baseball card shows in the late-1980's/early-1990's.....you couldn't walk in the aisles, they were too packed.

There are those times and those aisles. I haven’t checked what’s garnering all the attention. The guy that has the chance to pan for gold is always busy. He brings river sludge from the same river that caused the Carolina Gold Rush, and there are guys finding multiple flecks.

The CONECA guys. They’re the error and variety people. Right next to me for the ANA.

Very clear way of getting the potential consumer's attention with subliminal suggestion. And they require as much care as a pet rock. Good ploy!

I brought 15 old ANACS small slab coins with me. 10 sold. 3 are at NGC for reholdering. The non-cross cross. And 2 are going home with me. One is a “modern”, and is going to be going to Rosemont next month with other moderns for submission. The last one is just a too ordinary Peace Dollar.

Plastic plants don't grow....real ones might.

Looks like alot of fun. See any cool rarities? That was probably a dumb question. Ive never been to actually see what its like. I figured they would have some very rare coins on display and for sale.

The big auction firms always show droolworthy stuff in upcoming auctions. Lots of bullion dealers. 2021 100th anniversary silver dollars not everywhere, but not scarce either. The CC privy is selling about $100 above the other 5. This is a classic example of demand driving prices. The supply is identical for each.

I never buy off tv but sometimes I like to turn over to the sales channels and just look at stuff when theres nothing else on. Everytime Ive turned it on there thats all Ive seen. Old Rick Tomaski and all of em trying to sell the 2021 Morgans. Seems like they are pretty desperate trying to unload them all.

They are. Only the CC is still bringing bigger premiums over issue price.

I don't know what I was thinking. Thing is, I formally requested MA-SHOPS discontinue sending me notifications after @VKurtB recently posed a simple question concerning the mintage years of French 20-franc gold Angels (Genie) and Roosters (Coq) and I inadvertently discovered that NO Genie were minted in 1900, much less the 6 MA-SHOPS claimed were available in MS65--the rarest date, with a pop of 2, none finer--a coin I desperately needed... To me that potted plant w/logo was a provocation [slap in the face] and I reacted.

When I first met Tomaska, and bought his book, he was mostly a half dollar specialist. He was THE cameo proof Franklin Half Dollar guy.
