Of course, it's not the same, but it's mildly annoying that sellers don't take the time to learn the correct terminology. Sandblast just fits the look of the coins too. Who knows (shrug)!

I see that even the “Red Book” calls them Matte Proofs.

Interesting. I still maintain that they should change that. Who knows why they chose that description, except perhaps ignorance of the correct term and neglect in using old terms.

Funny I never noticed. I opened the box, thought my glasses were foggy, reached for my [forbidden] loupe, took one look at the obverse, one look at the reverse, and thought... I could have had a perfectly good rooster for that amount of money. And they're bigger than dimes.
