Help identify 1982 d 0

Really new to coin collecting. Have ordered books but have a hard time identifying marks that would make these small dates. Used a 1982 standard penny on top as reference in photos. Top penny weighs 2.9, middle 3.1, bottom 2.8.

Also a large date.

The link has some good pics.  The keys are the shape of the 2, shape of the 8, and distance from the 2 to the rim

Of course everyone can pick their own favorite diagnostic, but to me the clearest one is that last one - distance from the 2 to the rim.
