Legionary1
Why does the 1976 mint set only include those clad issues? There are business-strike silver issues of the quarter, half dollar and dollar...
Just Bob
There was a three-coin silver mint set issued, as well as a silver proof set.

Hi, there. The silver mint set can be found here: Category: Mint Sets 1965-1998 Set Name: 1776-1976 Silver Mint Set Thanks for your interest. Just Bob
I may have misunderstood the question. If you are asking why the Mint did not include the silver coins with the clad, then my (somewhat cynical) response would be that they thought they could make more money by requiring the collector to purchase two different sets in order to have an example of every business strike coin. If you are asking why NGC has different sets, I assume it is to enable collectors to participate in the Registry who do not want to have to buy both sets.
