Tobias J Reily
Picked this up lately at an auction in a job lot of some really fantastic coins. I've posted on coincommunity and I believe it could be an underweight 2 Reales from 1538 to 1541 Mexico, Carlos and Juana. oMo oPo. What do we think? Any comments are welcome, I've found some very similar but I don't think the exact same type with the scrolls on the outside of the pillars. Also, strongly considering sending this in for conservation as NGC might be able to the gunk over the bottom half of the shield (if it isn't damage.)The weight is 5.62 grams exactly, and the diameter is 25mm.
