Agreed. I don’t think a manufacturing process exists that doesn’t have tolerances. The most precise of components has some level of acceptable variability. It’s all a matter of how much is too much. I’m quite sure the mint would say these samples don’t fall out of acceptable range because they don’t spec to that level of precision under magnification.

Yes, @Just Bob, I remember this.  I think I have found probably 99 of the 100 different finger varieties on those 2009 Lincolns......haha.  I do have one of the more recognized ones (can't remember the designated number) that is an absolutely pristine gem I found CRH'ing.  I thought about slabbing it because I remember looking up the price when I found it. If I remember correctly, based on the grade I assumed it may get, it would have been very well worth it.  Just never got around to it though.  Like most things in my life these days..........🙄

Well... NOT to revive this thread, but I got my coin back yesterday.  Pretty cool to have the letter of authentication from Brian Ribar. It was packaged very nicely too (obviously what you see below was mailed in a larger padded envelope). Next step is to send it off to ANACS I suppose. Not that I think it is going to grade out very high, but just for the sake to have it slabbed as a "New Discovery".  Just wanted to share the letter as I was pretty excited to finally have my hands back on my Jeffy.  Thanks!

Thank you Just Bob.  I really appreciate you taking the time to make that comment.  I know it's just a very minor one, and there's a lot of them for this year, but I'm still pretty excited about it. Even though my final tally considering the cost of attribution, and now sending it to ANACS for slabbing ($$$$$), will "maybe" be what it's worth.  No idea about the value of this one (but then again, I really don't care.. cause I ain't selling it.....!! ) Thanks again!

I would like to thank everyone once again who has commented, replied or has given a reaction on this thread and topic.  Even though I have only personally spoken to, and met a few of you guys, I can't say enough good stuff about the members on this NGC forum. I said it once before awhile back, and I will say it again.  I consider NGC as my "home" coin forum. I have felt this way since the day I joined and I always will!!  I completely admire and respect the no B.S. straight forward and to the point answers given to the questions asked here while at the same time doing your best in helping out those new to collecting (meaning those who are genuinely serious about collecting and numismatics...... ok...STOP Greg..... don't go off on a tangent here....).  

Due to those members here who put up with all of my "Newb" questions, which at the time were very important to me because I had the desire to learn, yet politely urged me to take a step forward and outside of my comfort zone to learn on my own, I am truly grateful for.  Because of you all that respected my questions, gave me advice, gave me feedback and gave me much needed direction, is the sole reason I have become a much more educated collector than I was years ago.  And NO.... I'm not just saying this because of a newly found DDR here that I got lucky in finding (even a blind squirrel will find a nut every once and awhile)......... I'm talking about the entire learning experience I have experienced here and the privilege to learn from knowledgable members here on the NGC forum. Thanks!

I have noticed more collectors, YN's and a few people I've worked with getting into this...just yesterday two split some boxes of rolled coins from 4 different banks...maybe there is value financially? Maybe just enjoyment? Very excellent point in how many TPG would recognize...Personally I am excited for new discoveries and enjoy figuring out which is the Rarest...Congrats to all involved!!

Thanks Powermad!!  It was sort of an odd, but good feeling when I saw that new listing with my name on it. Pretty neat and special to me and  something I won’t soon forget. I need to get back into CRHing again because I really do miss it. I’m sure there’s still stuff out there to be found even if it is as minor as what I discovered. Thanks!

Good to be back chatting again and thanks for the congrats! I actually looked at some coins tonight for the first time in over 6 or 7 months.  Hopefully I'll get back into it and come along with something to share. 👍
